Exposed aggregate is a type of decorative concrete finish where the top layer of the concrete is removed to reveal the aggregate (gravel, stones, etc.) underneath. This type of finish is achieved by pouring the concrete with decorative aggregate mixed into it, then removing the surface layer of cement paste to reveal the aggregate.
